As the year comes to an end, we would like to thank all of our readers and clients for another successful year at CardioServ. We started the year off with goals to:
- Write more
- Walk more
- Share more
- Inspire more
- Volunteer more
- Connect more
Let’s see how we did as we look back on 2017 here at CardioServ!
WRITE MORE
This year Andrea Fields joined our team as our new Cardiac Director and she was fundamental in helping us achieve our goal of writing more. We increased the number of blogs written from 17 in 2016 to 67 blogs written in 2017! Our blogs included series on the right heart, nuclear cardiology, mitral valve and diastology. Ingrid Marais, our graphic designer, added custom designs and drawings to our blogs to make them easier and more enjoyable to read.
WALK MORE
Last year we collectively walked 250 miles on our treadmill desk and we set a goal to walk 350 miles this year. We walk for many reasons – to stay healthy, to prevent DVTs, to keep our creative juices moving and to raise money for charity! With the help of Rhiannon Anderson, we were able to blow our goal away and walk 460 miles this year! CardioServ donates a dollar for each mile walked, and the person who walks the most miles selects the charity so we will announce Rhiannon’s decision on the charity that will receive $460.
SHARE MORE
This year we sent out weekly newsletters with our blog and industry updates to keep our readers and clients up to date on industry news. In addition, with the help of our summer intern Pratik Amit Doshi we have continued to build up our social media platforms. We are active on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and now Instagram. Keep an eye out for our Trivia Tuesdays!
INSPIRE MORE
This year was the year of firsts!
- In July, we held our first conference in Ft. Lauderdale Florida when we collaborated with All About Ultrasound for our Mastering Venous Reflux Workshop. Angela Mills, our Vascular Director was instrumental in the success of this program.
- We designed our first MUAM gift available on Amazon prime!
- In October, we were proud to launch the inaugural annual Inspiring Excellence in Imaging award this year during Ultrasound Awareness Month to recognize individuals that diligently work at improving the field of ultrasound.
- In November, we kicked off our first World Tour that includes speaking internationally to inspire excellence within the field of echocardiography. Our first stop was St. Louis, Missouri speaking at the Midwest Cardiac Sonography Society. Next week, Judith Buckland and Andrea Fields will head to Mumbai India to speak at the Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital on the Essentials of Echocardiography. More World Tour information coming soon!
VOLUNTEER MORE
With the help of Rochelle Goldberg our volunteer coordinator, we participated in some fun and successful volunteer events this year including staffing the survivor tents at the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure and the AHA Heart Walk. We volunteered at our local schools, hosted BLS training and even held a free Yoga class on International Yoga Day!
CONNECT MORE
We are proud of the many ways we have connected this year to our readers and clients.
- Joanne Ryan, our Administrative Director, stays connected with our clients and oversees not only the dreaded audits and reaccreditations but also the quarterly QI program.
- This year we made a special effort to visit our local hospitals during ultrasound appreciation month.
- During the year, we have spoken at hospitals across the country as we advance the field of echocardiography. We look forward to adding more hospitals, echo societies and even schools to our schedule during our world tour next year
- We have connected more on LinkedIn, which led to meeting some inspirational leaders and unique individuals. We are excited to share these connections to you through interviews and guest blog features in the coming
