Heroes in Medicine Winner: Judith Buckland

Each year, Palm Beach County Medical Society (PBCMS) hosts the Heroes in Medicine Awards to recognize local individuals and organizations who stand out in the community by providing above and beyond services or address healthcare needs on a national basis. Awarded heroes are based on nominations and thorough interview process.

Contrast Echo: New LV Size Cut-Offs

ASE recently released a new guideline paper for contrast echo.  First you will notice by the title of the paper that ASE is now using Ultrasonic Enhancing Agents (UEA), or ‘enhanced echo’ to replace the confusing term “contrast” echo.  Thank goodness…no more stories from patients about how they are allergic to sea food and CT contrast!

The journey to finding our passion and helping others can often come from surviving hardship.  One such journey, is the story of how the Hearts N Hand organization was formed.  This week we will introduce you to this organization.  Hearts N Hand is a non-profit organization that focuses on educating organ transplant recipients, and donors.
