During the COVID-19 pandemic and the mitigation efforts, life has been turned upside down. Many of our clients have asked, “how will COVID-19 affect my IAC accreditation”? “Will I receive and IAC accreditation extension?” The Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) is taking “steps to ensure your facilities accreditation status remains uninterrupted” (IAC, 2020).
Unless you live under a rock, your life and routine has been affected someway due to COVID-19. Around the nation, we see closed schools, heart-breaking job loss, social distancing, and empty grocery shelves (what’s up with the toilet paper run!!).

This week, in our spotlight article, we featured one of our 2018 Mentor Award winners, Dr. Ahmed Said Saad. One of the reasons Dr. Said was noiminated is for his educational Facebook Group that includes an echo case study atlas! In addition, interesting case studies are uploaded regularily.
Earlier this year we announced the 2018 Inspiring Excellence in Imaging Mentor Award Winners. As promised, we would like to introduce you to our winners. This week we will feature Ahmed Said Saad, MD from Egypt.
Last year during Ultrasound Awareness Month we announced the Inspiring Excellence Mentor Award. We asked all of you to nominate someone who has made an outstanding commitment to mentoring within the field of ultrasound. We asked and you answered!! Dozens of applications came in from around the globe!
The new year has rang in and we are already quickly approaching the end of the month. I though before another year takes off it would be nice to review some of the highlights from last year. Last year we were celebrating our 10th anniversary which kicked off in October 2017 with a world tour that ran through October 2018.
This month we held an Echo Symposium that was focused on the MitraClip procedure. The conference, What the Clip! was a half day symposium that covered the essentials of understanding degenerative mitral valve regurgitation and how to perform the required echo and TEE views.
